The purpose of the Choir is to guide and lead in the singing of hymns and service music for the Sunday morning services and other services throughout the year.

The Choir sings anthems and psalms that bring the words of scripture to life through song.

St. Barnabas has many committed choristers, a number of whom are willing and able to take on solos. Choir provides opportunity of exhibiting caring in a small Christian group setting as choir members use their talent to help us render unto God the gift of music.

Choir activities throughout the year include social events in the Parish calendar. The first event is usually in February to celebrate St. David's Day. Following the 10:15 a.m. service, the choir provide refreshments including Welsh cakes.

Holy Week and Easter is a busy time and numerous services including Good Friday, the choir participates when they sing Stainer's "Crucifixion".

The Fall Bazaar is in November and the choir hosts a table to raise funds. The autumn season is a time of preparation for Advent and the Christmas season. ''The March of Days", of which a well-known hymn speaks, led the choir through the autumn season into Advent which they begin with the Advent Lessons and Carols service. Many years after the Christmas Pageant, the choir hosts a potluck luncheon with carol singing.

The choir truly brings boundless enthusiasm, fine voices, and dedication to St. Barnabas as they minister through music.

New choir members are always needed and are most welcome.

The choir rehearses on Thursday evenings from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm and sings at the 10:15 am service on Sunday mornings.

The Junior Choir is a way to involve the youth and children of the parish in the weekly worship. These members make a vital contribution to the life of the parish by their singing. The Junior Choir practices at 9:30 am on a Sunday morning and takes part in the 10:15 am family service. Any one is most welcome to join us, so if you are between the age of 6 to 18, come along and share your talent.

The Senior Choir is a group of dedicated and ambitious parishioners who provide year round musical leadership for the Sunday service, various church Holy Days, as well as Evensong. This group is led by a very experienced and dedicated Organist/Choir Director who selects hymns and anthems for Sunday worship in consultation with the clergy. The choir practices on Thursday evenings from September to June.
