The office will be closed on Tuesday, September 30 to observe National Day of Truth and Reconciliation.

Children of all ages are invited to join us for a fun and engaging time of learning, singing, and growing in faith. If you are interested in volunteering with Sunday School please talk to Abra after the service!

Sunday School will be held on October 5th and October 26th.

On October 1st, we will implement procedural change regarding Prayers of the People in the bulletin. The names of people for whom we have been asked to pray will be listed in the bulletin for one month at a time. Parishioners are welcome to renew their request for prayer by the first of each month but will need to advise Gloria in the office either by email at office@stbarnabas.ca or by telephone at 403-283-3035. This will allow us to be timely and responsive in our prayers.

If you would like to include a name in the prayers for the month of October, please let Gloria know by October 1st.  The Prayer Chain Ministry is another ministry of prayer and pastoral support, and names of people who require prayer can be shared with Gloria at any time and will be relayed to members of the Prayer Chain.

Unless specifically requested otherwise, prayer recipients are added to both the intercession in the bulletin and to the Prayer Chain.

Bring your furry, finned, or feathered friends to St. Barnabas for our Blessing of the Animals service at 10:15 AM.

For the comfort and safety of all, please bring your pet on a leash or in a carrier. 

Our annual Harvest Lunch for parishioners will be catered by Bon Ton Meat Market who will provide prime rib, mashed potatoes, steamed vegetables, and gravy. Yummy!

We are looking at running the Alpha course in our parish and I ask that you pray this prayer as often as possible in the next little while.

Heavenly Father, we thank you for the gift of Alpha.

Open our eyes to the friends, neighbours, and colleagues you are already drawing toward you, and give us the courage to extend a personal invitation on your behalf.

Holy Spirit, soften our hearts and remove every barrier of fear or uncertainty as we discern our role to invite or even become Alpha team members.

Lord Jesus, you welcomed the outsider and dined with the seeker. Teach us to mirror your hospitality—listening with compassion, speaking with gentleness, and serving with joy. Grant us wisdom in our conversations and perseverance when the answer is not immediate.

Gracious God, we entrust every step of this journey to you. Guide our words, calm our nerves, and fill us with faith that every invitation is part of your divine plan. May your name be glorified as people respond to this invitation and encounter your love. Amen.

To sponsor altar flowers, sign up on the flower calendar posted on the bulletin board in the narthex. As there is room for only one set of flowers on the altar, if someone has already signed up for the date you wish, we request that you choose another date. Cost of flower sponsorship is $60 and is included in the calculation of your tax receipt.

Please contact the office by Tuesday of the week before your sponsorship date to provide your dedication to be printed in the bulletin.
