5th Sunday after Pentecost

June 21

Our annual Stampede breakfast prepared by the 6th St. Barnabas Scouts will be on Sunday, July 5.

On Sundays in July and August, coffee hour will continue on a sign-up basis, giving our regular coffee hosts a well-deserved rest. Please consider signing up to make coffee one Sunday this summer. The sign-up sheet will be in the narthex for the next few weeks. On two Sundays in July, no tables and chairs will be set up due to a temporary change in our cleaning schedule; you are welcome to use as many chairs and tables as you wish, however, we ask that you put them away on those occasions. Thank you!

Parishioner Kris Lowry is putting together a scrapbook to document the parish's experience of the pandemic for our archives. She is asking for written submissions, photos, drawings, poems, etc. Her email address is krislowry679@gmail.com. Please submit your reflections by July 15th.

To include a name for the month of July on the intercessory prayer list, please email office@stbarnabas.ca by June 30.

Alongside Hope

In partnership with the Diocese of Jerusalem, Alongside Hope is providing 407 solar panels for St. Luke’s Hospital in Nablus, the West Bank.

The Wild Ride is setting the ambitious goal of raising $60,000 to fund 70 of these solar panels. One panel costs $865, which includes installation, maintenance, and other costs. And thanks to a generous donor, every gift will be matched dollar for dollar. Your impact instantly doubles. Alongside Hope’s 70 panels will turn into 140!

St. Luke’s serves a population of about 455,000 people, including 57 marginalized villages and four nearby refugee camps. But unreliable and costly power sources make health care a challenge during the best of times, or a crisis during the worst of times.

See Heather Proctor for more information.

Walking Together in Prayer and Support

Walking Together in Prayer and Support

Father Thomas Gatluak is currently in the process of sponsoring his wife and children so that their family may be reunited in Canada after years of separation due to conflict and displacement.

Father Thomas has initiated a GoFundMe appeal to assist with one-time, upfront expenses only, including immigration application fees, required medical documentation, travel to Canada, and initial settlement needs.

Parishioners and friends are invited to hold the family in prayer, to share the appeal within their own networks, and, for those who feel able, to offer financial support.

Flower Calendar

Flower Calendar

To sponsor altar flowers, sign up on the flower calendar posted on the bulletin board in the narthex. As there is room for only one set of flowers on the altar, if someone has already signed up for the date you wish, we request that you choose another date. Cost of flower sponsorship is $60 and is included in the calculation of your tax receipt.

Please contact the office by Tuesday of the week before your sponsorship date to provide your dedication to be printed in the bulletin.
