21st Sunday after Pentecost

October 18

BAS calendars are now available for $9 each. Please put payment in one of the envelopes in the narthex and put the envelope on the collection plate; your calendar(s) will be set out for you next week. If paying by e-transfer, please note that it is for calendar purchase. The BAS calendar has photographs of Canadian churches and is the calendar which our lectionary follows. BCP calendars have been ordered. Thank you to those who submitted their order – you will be contacted with the cost once they arrive.

There will be a Newcomers’ Reception for everyone who has joined the parish in the last 12 months, on Tuesday, October 27th at 6:30 PM in the upper hall. RSVP to priest@stbarnabas.ca.

The intercessory prayer list is renewed at the beginning of each month to ensure it reflects current needs. To include a name for November, please email office@stbarnabas.ca by October 27th.

Please pick up your stewardship letter in the narthex. If there isn’t one addressed to you, you may take one of the unaddressed envelopes and please email your address to office@stbarnabas.ca so that you will be included in future mailings. Please return your pledge card and ministry opportunities card in the enclosed envelope by November 1. You may place the envelope on the offering plate.

Check out the pandemic scrapbook in the link on Sunday, assembled by Kris Lawry and Kim Simpson. Thank you, ladies, for your efforts to bring this project to fruition.

A memorial service for Pauline Booth will be held here on Thursday, October 22nd at 1:00 PM. In addition to the regular street parking, parking is also available at Hillhurst Sunnyside Community Association.

Coffee and treats will be served following the 8:30 AM service on October 18th. All are welcome!

Walking Together in Prayer and Support

Walking Together in Prayer and Support

Father Thomas Gatluak is currently in the process of sponsoring his wife and children so that their family may be reunited in Canada after years of separation due to conflict and displacement.

Father Thomas has initiated a GoFundMe appeal to assist with one-time, upfront expenses only, including immigration application fees, required medical documentation, travel to Canada, and initial settlement needs.

Parishioners and friends are invited to hold the family in prayer, to share the appeal within their own networks, and, for those who feel able, to offer financial support.

Flower Calendar

Flower Calendar

To sponsor altar flowers, sign up on the flower calendar posted on the bulletin board in the narthex. As there is room for only one set of flowers on the altar, if someone has already signed up for the date you wish, we request that you choose another date. Cost of flower sponsorship is $60 and is included in the calculation of your tax receipt.

Please contact the office by Tuesday of the week before your sponsorship date to provide your dedication to be printed in the bulletin.
